Drawing a clock from memory, or copying a drawing of two overlapping pentagons. Seems pretty easy if you don't have memory problems, but determinant of particular areas that are difficult for those who do.
I’ve administered that test more than once as a Social Worker. I’ve jokingly said when I’m really old I’ll have a list of answers on a wall above a chair where I’ll invite the SW to sit. Yes, I can count backwards by sevens and spell world backwards. But remember this simple rule: it’s normal to forget where you left your keys. Now if you forget what your keys are for, then you have a problem

I never lose my keys, I’ve always put them in my purse, aka memory bag. Now glasses are another story. But I have one in each room and in my car.

I always thought counting backwards by 7 was a very unfair test. I have never been able to do math in my head. Always need a scratch pad.

Well that's only one wuestion, and you ahve to miss more than one to be diagnosed. And if you tell the doctor that you've always had a math issue, he probably wouldn't count that one. The answer that really makes them worry is if you say 100, 82, 71, 12, 43...

Amen to this one. Some of the questions are stupid. And prove nothing.

"They" have us believing there is a dementia crisis coming? Maybe they are counting on all the statins pushed on so many that dementia is a sure thing.

I posted what I do some posts back and certainly would not touch a statin and many of the drugs known to cause memory issues. One can do a search on that one.
