Perry,
Congratulations. Enjoy your retirement especially during the buyout period when you get full salary for doing no work. Have you packed your travel bags yet?
5/30/19. Last day I have to show up at the office. Officially employed by them until 7/31 but am designated Time Off with Permission-Paid. Handing in all my gear, badge etc this afternoon. Feels a bit surreal. Awesome severance package makes it much more palpable. I have been lucky to always been able to decide myself when to change jobs and have never been unemployed for the last 39 years. Worked part time during last three years of college and all 4 years of high school and full time every summer. The impact of just NOT working unless I really want, is a strange feeling.
Congrats! That last time you walk out of the office is so very nice. I still remember it. It was just another day, but then it wasn't.
Thank you all very much!! I was very pleasantly surprised at how many people made the effort to stop by and wish me well. Touching and heartfelt expressions of gratitude for work I’ve done with and for them over the last 30+ years.

Wishing you all the best Perry, and please know that you sharing all your retirement planning has been of great help to me. Enjoy your well deserved retirement!!!
Don't be surprised if you experience mixed emotions. NOTHING is all good (or all bad).
