My husband left me two weeks ago, so thanks for your sensitivity.
You're welcome. Back atcha. (See the smiley indicating a joke?)
Besides, the webcam to your bedroom has been broken for a month. - In other words, pulling a personal tragedy out of a hat as an excuse to lash out is uncouth at best. People don't read minds, and not everyone follows the lives of other people closely enough to know personal details. To expect that is outrageous.

I haven't read the whole thread as I'm not in the market but if I were, I would look for companionship through contacts with those who have shared interests.
What would bother me about OLD would be meeting people with whom I had no frame of reference such as friends in common, meeting through an organization, etc. You know nothing about this person except what they choose to tell you and how they choose to present themselves. While I know people who have met their spouses through OLD, the above is just my personal opinion.
I met a very nice older widower yesterday on a group hike. And there have been several second marriages occurring through my church. I may be wrong, but I would suspect that members of a church such as mine, which attracts a more intellectual crowd, would place less emphasis on age and physical appearance than on education and common interests.
Again, JMHO.
When I go hiking, I saw lot of women, not sure if they are single or not, but the men were outnumbered by a ratio of 10/1.
When I’m playing pickleball, it’s the opposite. Again, not sure they are single or not, but their significant others were not there.
So pick the activities you like and do, you will meet people.
