Wow— what do you do to be romantic? People need to be told and shown that they are cared for- no it isn’t a given. Foot rubs, back rubs, other rubs are great! And hotel rooms are fun for a change of scenery. No wonder your wife isn’t often in the mood.

Well, or your female partner on her knees.

When I said sex with my BF had become a chore, it was based on the quality of the sex. Once you've had sex with that one guy who is the best lover you ever had, it's hard (no pun intended) for anyone else to measure up (arrgh, another pun, sorry!).

I think you may have missed the point here.

We had a houseful of kids, and I couldn't get a decent night's sleep at home. He knew that's what I needed and arranged it for me.

The foot rubs don't "get me turned on." (Well, maybe a little. ) What acts like this do is make me feel loved. Which in turn reminds me how good it feels to make love with this man.

As I said, if reminding her that it has been a while and she needs to get her biscuits in the oven and her buns in bed works for you guys, then go for it.'

It wouldn't work for us. I don't owe him a damn thing, including sex every so often.

On a related note, "Among U.S. adults ages 50 and older, the divorce rate has roughly doubled since the 1990s."

https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tan...50-population/

We have seen this in our family and friends. In every case, it has been the wife who wanted a divorce. With a few exceptions, the husband claimed to be blindsided, lamented that he had no idea she was unhappy.

Can't help but wonder if facing several more decades of sex with a man who nags/pesters you for it might be a contributing factor.

men at heart are really chickens ...when things are not good at home , men tend to find someone else on the side ... they will still attempt to burn the candles at both ends until they get caught and are forced in to a choice or decision .

women tend to be more direct ... i think most women just go directly to lets divorce , do not pass go , do not pick up a side lover like men tend to .....
