Pizza, enchiladas, wine, now maybe coffee. I've lost my taste for it. It used to be the first thing i needed in the morning. Now one cup sort of makes me gag. Guess its a good thing?
Also cannot eat huge portions. Will generally order the mini version or childs plate of a dish.
Do not really diet, just do not over eat. Also back on my exercise routine. Do not want to get fat. Or not fit into my clothes.
Also, for women, do you still diet for weight loss or maintenance? And, if not, how old were you when you gave it up?
I have given up nothing, but I have been a healthy eater for nearly 20 years now (I had gained 50 pounds after my parents moved in with me while they were building their house). I will never allow myself to back to that shape. No thanks. I feel SO much better at a healthy weight.
I’ve been a regular member of a gym since I was 27, and fitness is a very high priority for me.
I have had to give up any "fizzy" drinks. No carbonated anything. After my diverticulitis surgery I had several sips of my DH's soda and I got gas pains so bad that I cried. That was 2 years ago and I haven't touched a soda since....not that that's a bad thing! But I sure do get a craving for cherry Coke every now and then, just not enough to bear the pain. I mostly drink ice tea and flavored water. Unfortunately that means that I had to give up my favorite wine, a Moscato 'd Asti.
I also had to give up the cruciferous veggies..... broccoli, cauliflower and Brussel sprouts, all of which I loved.....all for the same reason.
I have started following ketogenic eating style as I kept gaining weight even on low carb. I have lost a little and feel better. Less fluid retention, sleeping better, more energy.
I haven't HAD to give up anything but my eating habits have changed. I am less attracted to foods that are bad for me. I am less attracted to meat, for various reasons. I used to eat to the point of "stuffed"; I no longer do that.
I am still trying to lose weight at age 63, I have lost 10 pounds this year so far. Almost back down to a 25 BMI.
Cheese and some other dairy products. A2 milk is good and a great substitute.
