Soooo, here we go again! It sounds to me like the same person who was doing the "how many" threads a few months back.
I retired at 57 after a 31 year career. I was middle-aged then and at 66, I'm still middle-aged. Okay Mr5150, your turn, what's the appropriate age for the retirement forum, if being retired doesn't count.
LOL, middle age is just that, middle age. Since the life expectancy is about early to mid 80s, middle age would put a person in their mid 40s at best. That doesn't mean people can't retire in their 30s.
Now, we are black but we'd never liked jazz before. I know some white people our age who had been certified rock fans, but suddenly became country fans.
I think it's hormonal. All of a sudden you reach an age where you start liking your parents' music.
Interesting that marino760 thinks 40's is middle-aged. I thought I was middle-aged and I'm well into my 50's.
At this stage, I've noticed I have to be more cautious of injuries/balance loss. Last year during a vacation, I was running for exercise and tripped on a speed bump in the road. I broke a rib and wrist ... somethiing I didn't expect until it happened. Also noticed balance loss during hikes now. I don't speed hike anymore and going long distances on a single bottle of water is no longer possible. I've also taken to bourbon tastings. After all those years of enjoying wine, I guess I was ready for something different.
One thing my husband and I recently started enjoying is the Opera. In Knoxville, the opera shows subtitles of what is being sung. We love it. Maybe you're on to something, Ralph_Kirk. I run to dubstep now, too. I will never like country.
