Jim, I envy you. Here in metro Denver, we have zilch -- just leftover patches from the Thanksgiving storm. I HATE brown Christmases!!!

Been a mild, fairly snow-free winter so far in New England. Not complaining. Had an afternoon out with friend who lives next door, walked around the "big city" (Montpelier, pop. 7500).

I'm late to wishing Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all of you. I hope the day was all you hoped for. Mine was far better than I expected.

And now...Let me be the first to wish you all a wonderful 2020!

The people on this CD Retirement forum are very special to me. I've worried over your illnesses, cried over your lost pets, cheered for you when you moved from a bad housing situation to one that is darn near perfect, enjoyed your photos, admired the way you've made a new house in a new city into a new "home."
I wish each of you peace, prosperity and love in 2020 and far beyond.

Yes my Blue Heeler died summer before last he was 18, so natural causes, died in my arms. My Australian Shephard died suddenly, overnight last September (he was 8), looked in my eyes while I was telling him he was a good boy and took his last breath. I'm still completely lost and empty, don't think I'll ever get over loosing my Aussie. He was my best friend.

Nice day here, cold but sunny. We decided to remove some of our fruit trees, one of them is a fig. My husband gave up after first dig, he got really frustrated so I told him to move the lemon tree instead. That was easy peasy. I spent the morning removed the roots of the fig tree, slowly and surely, I cut off all the peripheral roots, then I was able to wiggle the tree back and forth, now I think I can finally move it. It will go into a container.

It is a day here that is more like May instead of December. Just got back from a walk and it is 70 degrees and loads of sunshine. Almost like being back in Florida. Lots of people out and about; walking or playing with their kids. I really like living in an area with people of all ages.

Not much going on for us. I'll be watching the football games between Oklahoma/LSU and then Clemson/Ohio State and that will be the rest of my day. My wife is making dinner tonight and it will be a favorite of mine. Sauteed cabbage with smoked sausage and fried potatoes. Not the healthiest meal, but it sure does taste good.

Heading over to the university tomorrow afternoon for a women's basketball game and that will wrap up our weekend. It sure seems strange that 2019 is about over. It sure zipped by fast. Hard to believe that at this time last year my wife was in intensive care and on a ventilator. These holidays have been much better.
