jim9251: Thanks for the good laugh. I needed that today.
This has been (to me) one of the most confusing days I've had in a long time. Picking up a lease car this afternoon. So many things I have not done (in re paperwork!!!) in years. I'm in headache city.
...Their web site looks a lot nicer than their pizza used to taste, lollol. Maybe the taste has improved over the years.
Does anyone else remember Shakey’s pizza or have one nearby?
Yup. Maybe it's a SoCal thing. Can't remember about the taste. When you're a teenager and young 20's, the taste of pizza was all the same...GOOD!

So you finally decided to lease again. It has been a long and difficult decision for you. What did you get?
The subject of pizza came up this morning (6:00 AM.
I can’t believe DH never heard of Shakey’s Pizza — worse yet I can’t believe they are still in business — not anywhere near me, but they have a nice web site.

I remember Shakey's, from the Midwest I think. Their pizza was no good as I recall. This was a long, long time ago.
My church group used to eat at Shakey's pizza after ice skating in Knoxville. At the time it was the far reaches of commercial development on Kingston Pike. Now it is halfway to town. JRR can verify this when I say it was east of where the mall is now.
I don't remember the pizza being particularly bad or good but we had fun. I guess because there were lots of different pizzas to share. Or because we were hungry after skating?
One of my few memories of CT was going for pizza. Mom said CT is known for good pizza and I shared her opinion. We moved from there when I was 3.
I survived Walmart! Interesting experience as I spent most of the time watching the other shoppers. I needed bird seed, window screens, hardware, paint. There was zero milk, eggs, meat, produce...people were in an absolute nuclear war zombie apocalypses panic mode.
Oh and since skools out, the store was flooded with aimless urchins rampaging the isles and having shopping cart races.

Ah good times.
This forum software needs a real “like” button, instead of the stupid “rep” button that says you must spread some good will around to others
Meaning, I would have “liked” your post.
Yes, apocalyptic was how the WalMart looked when DH was in there Saturday.
We also have closed schools but since it was Saturday when DH was WalMart people watching, all the kids were at Verizon, a block west, lollol LoL

Funny that you mention Kingston Pike as that is how we came out of Knoxville after my wife's surgery at the Cancer Center. Stayed on it all the way to Kingston and had dinner at Buddy's Bar-B-Q; then jumped on I-40 for the rest of the trip home.
According to the morning news, Trump was shown ASKING people to STAY HOME for 15 days. Just short of a lockdown.
So what do we do? Sit and watch TV all day? Read and reread books we have on hand? Twiddle our thumbs?( Memba THAT? I don't think millennials even know what it is!).
We are already losing jobs here die to shut down s. I just started a new hotel front desk job, but after a week, was laid off. My OH ( Other Half) has two part time job s. One, a few hours a week working with special needs people, is now suspended until further notice. My OH s other job hopefully will last... As a grocery store cashier. Hopefully, like Italy, pharmacy and grocery store s will stay open. But what about gas stations? Can't walk the 12 miles to the other town on the opposite side of the river!
We may have to fall back on only my SSDI, which only pays two things: the mortgage to keep a roof over our heads, and the main utility bill. Nothing else. No water/sewer, no garbage collection ( will they even collect??)
Fortunately we have 2 paid for vehicles, pray nothing goes wrong now.
We have already used up the efund last year as the grocery store cut my OH back to just 4 hours a week!!! Can't pay bills on THAT. So efund is gone and we are now using what retirement we have, which, meanwhile is decreasing every minute on its own.
I wish it was more like a month from now with warmer weather, I'd throw open the windows and doors and do the usual spring deep clean! I guess maybe I can start with the windows closed. Although Friday it will be 65 here in upstate NY, my area. But it's forecast to rain, durnit! That would also rule out doing some spring outside work! The winter winds have knocked off more dead or dying branches than usual this year. There's those to collect, and I take the yard to sort of dethatch it. The bushes need a little trimming.
The snowbells are up already, cthe rose bush has budlets ( needs to be trimmed too, should have been done before winter, but oh well.)
I'll have to inspect the planters for crocus and look to see if the daffodils are coming up. They are planted all along the side and back foundation, they really need to be dug up and separated, as they don't really bloom anymore. Since there's about 1000 of them, THAT will be a job. Probably thin them out and only plant on the shirt side foundation where nothing else is.
Well, that's it here from Lake Woebegone. ( Any remember Garrison Keiler on PBS radio? ( Or is it still on??)
Hope everyone has something to do while "sheltering in place".
Fortunately, “shelter in place” is no big deal for me as we have a small farm & horses. There is no shortage of entertainment around here. Once I’m done grooming my horses, I get to clean stalls and inhale sawdust. We are also entering allergy season so lots of coughing/sneezing due to that.
Then there’s the dogs - big dogs. They need exercise, so that takes up some time.
There are also various songbirds to watch. Some stay all winter, others are returning from wintering elsewhere.
My neighbor has several baby goats — they are a trip when they want something - they sound like someone being murdered if their moms don’t tend to them soon enough, lol.
When I’m done with all that, I can find more to do or I can fall asleep watching something I recorded because I was busy outside.
I don’t take any of my outdoor life for granted, but when asked what are we supposed to do, this is what I do. I am far from bored and I would be happy to put a horse brush or a manure shovel in someone’s hands if you’re looking to do something healthy and physical
What I am incensed about is the unethical people brandishing guns over toilet paper in Walmart. Yeah, that happened to the FIL of DH’s boss.
