October 1974. My birthday was on a Tuesday. I was most likely working at the hospital/medical records. Unhappy with life and planning my escape.

I moved West within a little more than a year.

What years were you stationed there?
I was stationed at Kelly (Medina Annex) '82
Moved to Lackland (worked in the comm center) in '83-85
Retrained and moved to Wilford Hall ('85-'89)

(Went to both tech schools at Sheppard.)

Join the Air Force and see Texas-specifically, San Antonio.

FINALLY in '89 I went to Greece 9 months before I was medically retired.

How about you?

Stationed in Florida in the Air Force. On my 21st, nothing really spectacular, just went to work and came home as I recall.

Smile Attended a 21st birthday for someone else

Working at a computer company; tons of employees.

Asked by someone we all knew to come over that night (it was a Friday night). We went over just from work and when we got there, we noticed balloons on the mailbox.

Oh-oh.

No gifts in hand.

One of us went to the door to inquire, were told to come in as more heads were needed, etc.

I never told anyone it was also my birthday.

Years later, the birthday boy in question found out. He is now my husband.

Boyfriend and I took a bus from western NY to Toronto and spent the weekend. We had a wonderful time! Oh, how grown up I was, lol.

I was stationed in Keflavik, Iceland. A bunch of us went out to drink and dance at the enlisted club, The Top of the Rock. Anyone here ever been?

How did you spend your 21st birthday?

Getting married. After which I followed up with the birth of my first child on my 23rd birthday and yes, we celebrate our birthdays together.

I'm sure I don't remember, but I didn't drink and couldn't care less about turning 21.
