No because they don't know if you transferred it to your own account, plus they would NOT get that account information. You had to have done the get my payment link at some point.
No. I was NOT able to provide a bank acct no. on the get my payment link because earlier two times system would not recognize me. Believe me, I tried. I couldn't ever get through to the enter bank acct page. IRS either got the number this time from SSA or debit card transfer. I agree it's very risky if they used debit card info because people change banks all the time.
IRS says this about closed bank accounts:
Quote:
If the direct deposit information is sent to a closed bank account, the payment will be reissued by mail to the address on file with the IRS.
I thought I remembered you were in one of the other threads and had gotten them. Honestly, you shouldn't worry about it because you know you qualify since you got the other 2. They just have not gotten to you yet for some strange reason. Hopefully you keep checking it every few days. I do know some people that did not get it at all have to file for it on their income taxes which would suck if you need the money like we did.
Turns out, I was just getting a notice for the 2nd payment, which I actually got in Jan. The notice was dated March.
I have read a few places that some people have to file returns to get this 3rd payment, so I was just checking to see if that included me.
You're right, since I got the first 2 I should just be patient.
Isn't it funny how the first two were hassle-free and there was a simple online way to check your status. Somebody, for some reason, must have changed something.

You shouldn't have to file your 2020 to receive it. Actually if your income is too high in 2020 it is best to not file yet. I believe the actual eligibility will be based upon 2021 AGI.
Of course that is coming from someone who believes he qualifies and did not receive it yet.
Your situation is mine, exactly. I have never provided IRS a bank acct no. when filing taxes. I always write a check for whatever small amount is due. Never get a refund. Finally dawned on me today, when I transferred debit card balance to checking in January, bank acct number was programmed into IRS system. THAT'S how they now have our bank account numbers. Because of the debit card transfer.

I expect mine to be electronically deposited after Midnight, along with my Social Security benefit. Those who received theirs on the 17th likely received their SS benefit as well. Am I right?
