Agreed, and I love most of the old traditional songs and hymns. Not overly fond of much of the other stuff beyond about 1960 or so though.

We love The Ray Coniff Singers Christmas albums. My father in law gave us several vinyl albums by them years ago, and we listened to them all the time. Now we listen on Apple Music.

Christmas in Sarajevo, by the Transiberian Orchestra, is magnificent. Listen to it kinda loud.

I also love Mannheim....and I prefer mostly instrumentals.

Vince Guaraldi jazz piano. Preferably while watching Snoopy. “Skating” for the win as easily my favorite Christmas Music song.

Anything is fine, except that trash by Mariah Carey.

All jazz albums, like Larry Carlton. Classics sound great when they're updated.

I tend to favor the Olde English style of Christmas songs. Minstrel tunes such as 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlement' and 'We Three Kings' and suck like. The Irish Rovers have a fine version of 'Good King Wenceslas' on youtube'

The Fab Four Tribute band has an album of Christmas songs in the Beatles mode. It doesn't stand up to repeated playing all December long. But the first time thru, it's a good listen.......

None other than the Bare Naked Ladies have a Christmas album that's worth a listen....

There's a wonderful solo acoustic guitar player named John Fahey. He has an album of my favorite Christmas songs.

I'm just now getting familiar with Pentatonix....they're very good.

Speaking of jazz, here's another I like. The words paint a picture.

The cousins, who were all musical, favored the English tunes and when they'd arrive for Christmas Eve dinner they'd stand on the front porch and sing, "We wish you a Merry Christmas."

Mom made an English steamed plum pudding in those days and the phrase, "now bring us some figgy pudding" would make us all laugh.
