I like black licorice and loved those little ones with the tiny candy beads on them. They were usually in an assortment bag of licorice.
Loved Wacky Wafers, those little dots on paper, Oompas, rootbeer barrels and Reeds. Reeds don't taste the same or come in the clear wrapper anymore. I also liked the really flat taffy in the wax paper pkg, and Bubs Daddy cinnamon bubble gum and Atomic Fireballs.

Zagnut, Zero, and Reeses. Funny the things you remember, like taking trips with my dad and he'd stop at a gas station and get us a couple of six-ounce cokes out of one of those old coolers that had them in cold water, and couple of Zagnuts or Zeros.

But my absolute favorite was these rolled caramels with a white center. Don't know what they're called. We'd go into the Roses store to the candy counter and get a bag of those and a bag of cashews while mom shopped. You can still buy something similar today, but it has nowhere near the same taste or texture.

Remember the Brach's Pick a Mix display of assorted candies that was usually the first thing in the grocery stores? I loved the nougat.

I don’t think I’ve seen the $100,000 bar mentioned, that was my favorite for a while.

Looking at the old time candy web site reminded me about the “little bag of gold” gum, filled with little gold nuggets of gum.

There was also a little cloth bag filled with “gold coins” that were gold wrapped chocolate coins.
