Correction: I didn't mean KitKat (candy bar); I meant Kits (the four squares of taffy).
I loved Zero bars, too; they were different! Are they still around?
My new and current favorite is Squashies, made in the US by Smarties and in the UK by Swizzles (Drumstick). Brits, is that a childhood candy for you? I can't find them here...
A lady worked behind the counter and when you made your selection she would scoop it out and put it on the scales then tell you the price.Take some away or add more then into the little white paper bag.
I used to read "Peanuts" books voraciously, and in them, the gang was always walking around with a white paper bag of candies. Must be where they got them, too!
Can't find those anywhere! I almost bought a "Sweet Storybook" (we always got those in our Christmas stockings) this season, but looked inside and was disappointed to find they were only half the rolls, and all were "assorted." Not a butter rum among them! Still love butterscotch disks, but butter rum was better.
Liked the gold rush bag of gum and also the little mini-chiclets.
