Thank you UpNorthRetiree. You have wonderful insight and perspectives. I am glad I reached out and I am glad I am okay with the results. Yep, I am fine. I have to remain positive. Life is too short to let others have so much power and control over us. We (I) have to think of ourselves first so we can help others. Hang in there UpNorth.
Along with my sister we just visited a 90 YO Aunt we have not seen in 30 years. She made a big family meltdown years ago and refused to let our family heal with hers.
But now with little time left she was open and warm to a nice Thanksgiving visit.
Shame she would not see my mother, her sister before she passed 2 years ago.
Rakin, although your 90 year old aunt missed her sister I am sure she was overly appreciative your family gave her another chance and allowed her to have a very pleasant Thanksgiving. It is regretful not everyone was present whom she lost touch with so many years ago; but it is very encouraging you and your sister were there for her before she enters her next phase in life. This is a very touching and moving situation. Pleases me and I am smiling. Thanks Rakin.
