I'm a dual national living in California and planning on retiring at 62 with a pension.
Retiring in California doesn't make any sense financially, so I'm trying to find a website that takes in the factors mentioned and gives an example of what to expect if one were to move to a specific province of a country with a specific pension salary.
I have a lot of options, being an E.U. citizen, but finding a single expat tax expert who knows all the specifics to each European country and territories is probably unlikely.
I imagine someone must have a database of information compiled. Just wondering if anyone here has found anything online that gives comparative data.
If you find one out, please share. In my experience, these things are very country specific and the tax treaties with the US are bilateral. A lot of info is ex-pat and not retiree focused. To the extent some bloggers discuss it, the details as to taxes and healthcare are not described to a large extent. Taxes are anyway specific to the situation as they very much depend upon the income. The health insurance often involves two stages - an initial temporary stage followed by ability to join the local system.
