Hello everyone
I was just wondering if anyone has been to belize. I was thinking of retiring down there but have not found a good place to buy land to build a house. I did come across this site. Moderator cut: No advertising seems nice. Does anyone know anything about this place. Any info would be great.
Thanks
OB

I have a friend who inherited a home on a island just off belize. He like it but said it is pretty primiive execpt for the tourist areas, he also said that securtiy is a problem and before he sold he saw more and more security with machine guns etc.He said his being latino helped tho.He bascially said like most south american countires its noit as safe as people think i visiting a tourist area.

I've been, and while it is a nice place to visit, I would not want to live there. Cost of living is very cheap, but the haves are certainly easy targets for the have nots. Security and safety are two big issues there.

If you are looking for the Expat type of life, I would certainly consider Panama over Belize. If you want to go and visit Belize, don't miss Caye Cauker....what a wonderful little island!!! It is about 1 hour 10 minutes from Belize City with a power boat that had 4 outboard motors. Best snorkling reefs ever!!!!
