I guess I'll wait until I have to make a decision, but the reason we wanted to move to Albuquerque was because the weather is great and we didn't want Houston's weather.

Just something to consider even though you do have family in Houston. Make sure your pets are protected from heartworm (via fleas) and ticks. The humidity there in Houston really makes these pests a problem; however, my aunt lives there in The Woodlands and has had dogs and has no problem. It's good to be aware. Make sure your pets slowly acclimate to that humidity there and don't have to live outside.
