BTW - when I click on this little picture - it fills the screen. Can I post "full size" using the "attachment" feature? And will Flckr work in the "insert image" function (doesn't seem to). Robyn
I always enjoy seeing what you have done. What version of PhotoShop are you using. Mine is so old it belongs in Juraissic Park. So, when I see your work I think perhaps it's time to buy a newer version.
Math, thank you for that info. You lost me after the first sentence (LOL) so I obviously have a lot of learning to do when I get a DSLR!
My Sony CyberShot DOES take beautiful photos and has served me well for 5 years, but it's not good with action shots (blur), doesn't zoom very far, and takes forever to recover from a flash shot. So I'm thinking of getting the Nikon D5000. And, this time, take advantage of the classes offered at Ritz Camera. With my last SLR, I just "wung it" by reading the manual. I also didn't experiment much, because it was too expensive to get all the prints processed. This time, I want to take full advantage of the camera's features....maybe then I'LL be able to talk with ya about....saturation....and stuff.... (LOL)
Meanwhile, your photos are beautiful and I'd love to see more! Thanks for taking the time to respond about the camera.
whats nice nice is my wife and i are both so into it..everything we do revolves around our photography and we never ever run out of things to talk about ..

I bought a digital SLR yesterday! Got a Nikon D5000 with 18-55 and 55-200 lenses. It was recommended to me by a salesman at Ritz Camera. I did my research, found great reviews and I liked that "articulating display" idea. When I went in yesterday to buy it, turns out they had neither the camera nor the zoom lens in stock. Geez, it was in their sale brochure, you'd think they'd have planned their inventory. I didn't want to wait, so I bought the same kit for the same price at Best Buy. I took a few hundred photos today at the dog park and they are AMAZING! So much better than my point & shoot. I can't figure out how to post a photo here because the file size is too large. But anyway, I'm hoping I have found a new hobby too!
excellent choice of camera, you will love the d5000 and its capabilites are nice.
you need to resize for posting , usually down to 300k or less. there are free programs on line that do that but i highly recommend the nikon capture nx2 editing software.
you can down load it on line for a free trial and then buy the key when the trial is up.
i shoot raw and use nx2 for all my edits ..
once you resize you need a hosting site ,i use smugmug .. then from there you can post on any forum.
