And also between Westerly and Cranston. Its max rated speed is 150mph, not fast by high speed rail standards internationally, but pretty fast compared to the pokey Northeast Regional.

The BOS-PVD run on Acela is 38 minutes; the regional is 40 minutes, so I suspect Acela isn't flooring it on this run. Acela charges $34-$46 (depending on time of day) vs. $15 for the NE regional.
