The n was a result of having to put "any" letter down to complete an edit. Not a response to anything said.
If you wish to be sarcastic and rude...button down the hatches.

I must admit you have me here...I have no idea who rakentrail is. I wouldn't get to concerned over an "off handed" remark as this.
I think most people just want a common sense end to this problem.

Some of my forebears were among the immigrants who came to the Charlestown, Mass., shore from England ... lets see, 379 years ago. We came with nothing but the clothes on our backs to a hostile shore and clawed out a meager existence from the land and sea --while fighting off Indians whose land we were occupying. Around 1741, about a hundred years after those first arrivals, another group of my forebears, this group escaping harsh conditions in Germany, settled in Waldoboro, Maine, and in the first two years, half of those immigrants starved or froze to death during brutal winters.
When those German immigrants thought it couldn't get any worse, the Indians surged out of their woods and burned the little settlement of Waldoboro to the ground. Come Spring, the Germans started over.
The Hispanics now 'sneaking' into this country are escaping oppression by their governments and lack of opportunity to improve their life. Some lose their life during the attempt to escape tyranny. Most of them cling to their language and culture. They are productive, hardworking. They dress nicely. Their children look happy!
I am proud that the immigrants who have taken the hard road to leave their homeland and family and friends have chosen to come to AMERICA!

My father is from South of the border and he came to this country LEGALLY. He was dirt poor, with only a 7th grade education but guess what? He waited in line. He was an honest man who loved this country and made it his HOME. He flew the American flag, learned English and assimilated. My dad never expected a handout from taxpayers. He called immigration more than a dozen times to report on illegal alien activity in his neighborhood and in his workplace.
The folks who come here illegally feel like they are above the laws of this country because the bleeding hearts such as this clown in RI send them that message. I have come to realize that there are 2 sets of laws in this country: one for the American people and one for Politicians and their beloved illegals.
These people are NOT immigrants. Immigrant is one who waits in line and goes through the proper channels.
They are illegal aliens. You can sugar coat a turd but it is still a turd.
My father wasn't even born here yet he loved this country more than any bleeding heart ever will. How can you all just sit back and defend people that are here in violation of our laws? How do sleep at night knowing that you are supporting folks who have no regard for our country, our people and our way of life? Maybe you should all pay a visit to a shelter, a Veterans shelter and a nursing home and see what your fellow Americans are going through. They are the ones who should receive such support and words of encouragement. Not the ones who came to this country just to take, take, take and feel entitled to things they never worked for. Illegal aliens and their offspring are the most ungrateful group of people I have ever seen in my life. Just read any article focused on illegal immigration and how they paint themselves as victims while demand that we give them a free ride.

Amen KAAC! your Dad did what every hard working honest immigrant did; they learned the language, it was difficult, they helped each other get by, they worked on their citizenship and were naturalized. They didn't ask for handouts, they didn't feel entitled. They are solid citizens.
Governor Dufus of RI also wants to educate them at a very high cost to RI taxpayers, already overtaxed. He just doesn't get it ! Take care of your own first.

They simply don't build them like your father anymore...what he had is respect and pride, for himself
and his neighbors.
