water fire on the river Oct 8 (Providence: live, restaurant, mall)

I've checked the website and this appears to be the last water fire of the season....anyone got any inside tips of music, where to eat etc??
we lived in Wayland Sq. last year but never could be around for the water fire an want to see it before we move from New England...
thinking of staying at the Marriott as we have rewards points...

Any food preferences?

There are several food options around the park.

If you want to be right in the middle of the action their is Ruth Chris steak house, Jacky's (Chinese Food), and Waterplace Restaurant. you're also near the mall which has Joe's Bar and Grille, Fire and Ice, Melting Pot, Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Changs. Also close to the park is Luxe Burger, Capital Grill and RiRa (If you like pub grub). The further you go out more options pop-up.
