Hi I am about 60, a widow, and retired. My family is all around the US. I live in the Wash DC area where it has become very expensive and very crowded. I am looking to relocate somewhere. One of the main things I need is an airport so I can see all of my family, also I am looking for a pleasant place where it is not too hard to get around (a 5 mile drive here can take 45 minutes) and where it wouldn't be too hard to make new friends coming without knowing anybody. Would love any comments or advice. Thanks.

Greater Providence is a good choice- housing prices will be about 80% lower then the Washington DC area. Providence is a fun city, with much to offer. TF Green Airport is nearby- there is access to culture in Providence, Boston, and Newport and Cape Cod are not far away.

Also consider Central Connecticut (Greater Hartford)-where housing prices are even lower then Providence, and there is much culture, easy access to NYC, Boston and the Ocean.
