I am currently thinking of renting at pocasset mills or slater mills. I wanted to know if anyone has lived in either of these places and can give me a run down. I've lived in providence for 6 years, but i really want to move into a complex with amenities. I have a budget of 1100 dollars and these apartments seem like the best options in that price range. I have a car and know the RI area pretty well but could use some information from someone who actually lives in one of these complexes. Thanks!

don't know anything about Pocasset, but I have a friend who lives in Slaters Mill in Pawtucket. The complex is middle class with few if any problems within it. It is near a beautiful park with Slater Mill and has great access to Gam Theater, similar to Trinty Theater. Nearby are free summer concerts next to the fire station. The area while walkable during the day is not walkable at night. It is downtown Pawtucket and some suspicious things go on there or nearby. Tolman High is also nearby with a lot of teenagers at different times of the day. It does have good access to I-95. Within 2 miles are a number of good restaurants to go to; China Inn, Spumoni's, Hose 6, etc. The Pawsox are also nearby if you like Triple A baseball. Pawtucket is often put down on this forum and does have its problems even close by to Slater Mills but it is an oasis, of soughts, within sight of the police dept. Give them a call and ask how often they visit Slater Mills apt. Also there is no other housing for blocks. My friends feel secure there and have had no problems there.

Thanks for your response And the advice. I will definitely try and call the police department. Had your friend heard of any cars being broken into or anyone getting robbed on the way from their car into the building. I dont plan on walking around pawtucket, so those are my only real concerns.

I looked at a renovated mill with their tall ceilings and wondered how much it would cost to heat those suckers. Something to keep in mind.
