The water is crystal clear, but colder on BI than the mainland. RI is full of all sorts of beaches with great swimming, big sandy beaches, small sandy beaches, small private coves, cliff jumping, you name it. Although there can be some seaweed at one or the other, but the water warms up pretty good in July.
