There used to be (many moons ago) a flea market in Norton, Mass. that I would take the train up from NY to go to. I'd say 50% of my apartment is furnished with great -- not good -- but great items from that wonderful place. Hope this is half as good.
Anyone know of good Goodwill/second hand shops in the PVD area?

Flea is 10-4 on Sundays Alfie. Since it's new- may take a little while to get enough vendors going and people informed.
There's not a lot of second hand or consignment in Providence- a couple on Wickenden I believe. There is a Salvation Army near the East Side Marketplace. Try Yesterdays News on Willett in Riverside, EP. Just opened a few months ago- the people there are really nice. Stock Exchange in Barrington was great until it closed! Alfred's (Barrington) is nice but can be pricey. There's a couple in Warwick- Home Again I think it's called. Although Craigslist for furniture can be good- a lot of junk of course as well.
Oh, and Lost Treasures in Seekonk is good for mahogany bedroom furniture- rest of it is small decorative items. Vinnys Antiques in Seekonk has some furniture- most places don't have a lot of really usable used furniture!!

Omg, someone else who remembers!!! I used to go there all the time with my parents (grew up nearby). It was HUGE and nothing else I've been to compares...yet.
There is, however, a nice big open air flea market down in Wellfleet at the drive-in (which, last time I knew, is still running). So if you're ever down there, it's a cool place to visit.

Thanks, Hollytree! This fills the void left by the closing of the Rocky Hill flea market.
