Looking for a good and reasonably priced exterior painter who works in Providence area. Estimates so far have been ridiculously high- anybody have experience with any good honest guys? Modest 2 story shingled house- we're not talking a mansion.

I can recommend Garcia Home Improvement. His # is: 256.1136. Since moving back to RI I have used Angie's list extensively and found it to be for the most part a VERY good resource for just about everything needed to extensively renovate a large house, including painting work. James Garcia is the owner of the small local company and you won't have to pay for layers of management. He's trustworthy and his work is high quality with reasonable prices. Never go with the lowest quote, but don't pay for layers of management over sight and multiple employee insurances either, which are usually the reasons for crazy high quotes.
I received some "East Side" quotes also. Perhaps high quality, but for sure for an even higher price. Not for me.
