Most of the RI-based posters (and Raiderman) include a cite when they make a claim -- it's how debate and dialog works, at least here in the Northeast. And to a person, I think any of these mentioned posters would have already included proof of their assertion, but would be delighted, if asked, to provide a cite if one was lacking. That's what promotes healthy, stimulating, fact-based exchanges. You see, truth need not fear inquiry; it's only mistruths that hide away from the light.
And what if the poster is right? What if NYC is shipping poor people to RI? Isn't that something we, as concerned taxpayers, would want to know? I want to know and that's one reason I'm so looking for more information. Credible information.

But, you stated this was an ongoing problem, yet you only cite an unreadable/no longer available article from 2006 --8 years ago! Surely, Sir, to make such a bold statement, there must be tons of cites you could provide, no?
And what you provided as a "cite" is actually a dialog on a threaded forum, and the content of which really disputes your bold,. disturbing assertion:

The best source comes from those on the street, who deal with this crap on a daily basis (and have endless accounts of these lowlifes invading RI (and SE MA). Know anyone in social services? Ah, anecdotal information. But surely, these people are accountable and their "facts" would manifest itself in a report. Can you at least cite the report? Otherwise, I fear I really do have to consider your claim as completely unsubstantiated.
Did you notice how far North Dakota has shot up? From 27th to 6th in 5 years. That oil boom certainly has been good for the state! Time to go start shooting at the ground in Chepachet!

no, I've been awaiting some objective record of these assertions myself. If the amount of New Yorkers moving here has recently exploded, it shouldn't be that hard to prove, should it? Surely someone else has noticed it and documented it?
