Has anyone done a conversion lately? I've got a property I'd like to convert before putting it on the market.

There's gas at the street - thankfully!

Thanks.

I converted a just purchased house from electric to gas in October. Big job. If the gas is in the street it should cost you a flat $800 to bring it to the house. However, it can take months to get this done. Make sure you get a few estimates for the conversion. They can vary wildly. We went with Affordable Heating and A/C from Angie's List and couldn't be happier. Lowest price, best service.

We went through National Grid on a couple of houses- only about 3500 per house through their special deals.

Street has 22 homes... only 4 out of the 22 still have oil.

Gas main easement is on my side of the street. 45 feet from main to the house.

Would be gas boiler to keep the existing FHW system. I looked at the rebates available... these boilers are on the pricey side......then what to do about domestic water - tank or tankless? I have tankless in my own home and love it....
