I Filed a RI Non Resident tax return a month ago. . The RI tax website tells me. It has been processed and refund is scheduled. It has been telling me this for 3 weeks now, yet I never see my DD return in my bank acct. I have received all my other refunds, the Federal, and Massachusetts. All were filed the same day with Turbo Tax. Is this common to wait so long after processing, and a refund has been scheduled to be sent to the bank. I have never filed in RI before, but I have a part time job in Providence so I needed to file one. So I'm not use to how it is done in RI. So far I'm not impressed with their method. I've tried calling a phone number, but I never have had enough time to stay on hold the required time.
I had the same problem last year (and project having it this year). I filed in March and finally got the distribution in JULY!!! This contrasts with Federal ... exactly 10 days to process. I'm in the same situation again this year, having filed in February, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope this year either (and your experience confirms what I'm expecting to be the case). I hope it's not a lot of money.

RI Div. of Taxation is roughly two months behind in processing returns. Part of the delay is being blamed on the computer system upgrade which occurred back in October.

I agree; they should post it somewhere on their site. You can't get through to them on the phone because they are being inundated. I sense that the employees at RI Div. of Tax. are frustrated too.
The buck stops with Raimondo. She's the chief executive of the state and is responsible for making sure things are running smoothly. Things aren't running smoothly.
