try this Quilter, but I don't know if it is current. It is a good way to watch the snow fly!
Thank you; I've put a shortcut on my desktop. As early as last year there was a better site, something to the name of "RhodeCams" or "RhodeWays" etc. from the DOT. Cams were all over the state, and definitely live as you could see the precipitation on the lens at times.
I'll check the above site as the storm comes in; concerned of course about family and friends up there. Memories of the blizzard of '78 are still very fresh, you don't forget something like that and the chaos that ensued. Luckily in Cumberland at that time, we didn't lose power. But on our hill near Arnold Mills, abandoned cars were actually buried in snow for a week; and we remember the front end loaders actually driving over them, there was so much packed snow above the cars. The kids had a great time though.
Hopefully the firms and businesses in Providence will let people out of work when the first flakes start to fall.
Here is the one I use. You can choose the pictures. Wicked gridlock starting per my sister in law. My buddy said RIPTA is running way late....................he is taking someone up on an offer for a ride to East Greenwich fom downtown Providence...this is the same friend that spent several nights at our high school during the blizzard of 78!

Thank you JB for the site; I didn't think to look at that this morning. I just got off the phone w/my daughter in Diamond Hill and they are pretty snug. Oil delivery came this a.m. and plow man on the ready. Of course, they won't be going anywhere for a few days if it is as bad as '78. There is a lot of hype on the news, it's sometimes difficult to believe it all. She said "at least we don't live on a hill anymore". Worst concern is losing power.
It's dark up there now; I forgot about that until I saw the webcam just now. We get sunset here about 45 mins. less than RI as we are in the Western Mountains of NC, about 100 miles from the TN line yet in the same time zone.

Repeat: please everyone stay safe.
Correction: I meant to say "45 mins. to 1 hr. later than RI".
