Just wondering if anybody can recommend a good auto mechanic? You know, the kind that is reasonably knowledgeable, that you trust with your car, that doesn't gouge you, that doesn't damage anything. Perhaps, even a bit considerate when it comes to keeping it as clean as when you brought it in, not driving it with filthy hands, getting grease all over your steering wheel, matts and shift? Looking for any good advice, from those who like their mechanic, not looking to hear from cynics. Also, any recommendations of who to avoid.
I highly recommend Mike Turcotte on Blackrock Rd. in Coventry. He has very low overhead, as his garage is on his own property behind his house. He worked on all of our cars, and I never had a single complaint.
East Side Service at Hope Street & Hillside Avenue is excellent. They're honest, reasonably priced, and you can pick up or drop off after hours (until 10 p.m., as I recall). You generally need to schedule at least a couple days in advance, though; they get backed up.
Jay's on Elmwood Avenue in Warwick on the Cranston line.
