Since we now have direct flights to Germany, someone made a very nice little video of their trip…. worth a look!

Nice ad by the airline, Condor. Promoting flights from PVD on Condor. The tag says "see other videos by Condor".

Nice shot of some lobster and French fries too.

Seems like a good idea to me! RI is all about tourism- one of our major industries.

Great video, and is she is gorgeous! Maybe tossing a few shekels into promoting the state makes some sense?

Does anyone know what the current tourism spend is? A few years ago, I heard Rhode Island was last in dollars spent to promote tourism -- dead last, as in places nobody wants to visit like Kansas and North Dakota spend more. I thought that was a major oversight, but I suspect it's increased lately.

^ Last I read it was $710k. South Dakota, which of course it utterly charmless, spends $12.2m. In Rhode Island ,we prefer to invest in tangible, profit-producing enterprises, like the convention center, 38 Studios and soon the Dead Sox (PVD edition).

Maybe we don't spend as much to lure tourists because we don't need it as much - tourism contributed almost $6 billon to our economy in 2012, or more than double the economic impact of tourism in South Dakota.

I've never heard anyone say that the state is so flush with jobs and revenue that it can say, "Nah, pass." And this is easy money.
