How do you feel about the additional cost of $1.08 per mini box per month for each TV in your house?

It's just another money maker for Cox. Unless people drop them, they'll get away with it.

Does anyone actually have Cox? When I was looking to buy a house eight months to a year ago, I noticed that pretty much every single house I saw -- and I saw a lot -- had FiOS. I was paying close attention because I didn't want to give up FiOS and wanted to ensure it was a possibility in the house I bought. (Not that it would have been a dealbreaker, but it would have been a negative, let's put it that way.) Everything I saw was in Warwick and East Greenwich, though, so maybe coverage isn't so good in other parts of the state?

Who seriously still watches (or even subscribes to) analog cable in 2015? It's about time Cox goes all-digital, even though it means boxes (and additional equipment rental fees) on all your TV's.

That said, if I lived in Rhode Island, I would still go with FiOS. Most of the state (including Providence) can get FiOS, and as an added bonus, you get NECN which Cox doesn't carry.

I switched from FIOS to Cox.

Cox has been much more reliable than FIOS here in the city.

Gee, I haven't had any problems whatsoever with Verizon in Providence.

Nor with Cox, for that matter.

What has the problem been?

Did Verizon offer any explanation for these problems? I wonder why it would be a problem for Providence in particular.

I had Cox for years and switched to Verizon about 3 years ago. I haven't noticed any difference in picture or audio quality. My dad had a problem with a buzz like that, but it was in Coventry, and, I think, Cox.
