Um, and in what context was it raised, "QuilterChick?" It was raised in the context of one state giving away the store in an failed effort to recruit business, one that cost about $305k per job, and I contrasted that with the state of RI and how it did not engage in that sort of lemming-like rush to shovel money to a large company. That it was in NC is of little importance, though: if you read business trades or national newspapers of repute you would know this is like Exhibit "A" of how not to grow one's workforce base.

In relation to their states' prospective sizes, Dell and 38 Studios were both in the same ballpark as far as cost to each state. 38 Studios was possibly a bigger blow to RI, as we know RI taxpayers were on the hook for a full $100m. At least NC knew enough to award the money in target based increments, and according to your cite we are not sure how much the taxpayers actually footed for it. But they were both failures, and I think both states learned a lesson that won't be repeated.

But want to compare the two for discussion purposed, fine. You do need to realize what elicited all the negative responses, which was your blatantly provocative "a certain blacklisted, pariah state down in Hoot 'N Holler land". Really??? How does that enhance the discussion about Citizen's Bank building a new corporate campus (other than the usual inferiority complex)? No one is spouting such childish name calling about RI, you have it all in your head...
