Hello, I am new to this area, so I need some advice. I am moving to Pawtucket, RI to attend Grad School. I am trying to find an area that would be safe and also quiet. I am undecided about Pawtucket (though the area of Darlington seems nice), and Federal Hills also appears suitable, but that's just from looking online. Can anyone recommend an area?

First off, Federal Hill is in Providence. Darlington is not a bad area to live in. It is close to shopping and also is close to the MBTA if you want to go into Boston by train. Oak Hill is also a good area bordering Providence's East Side.
Both areas have good bus service into Providence.
The most important info we need is where are you going to grad school?

Pawtucket is an old mill town. It's a blue collar, working class town. Parts are OK, parts a little rough. Pawtucket is decidedly NOT cool or trendy. The Oak Hill section is one notable exception--its is more closely identified with the trendy East side of Providence.
I lived in Darlington right off Central and loved it. You've got Slater Park which is really nice, close proximity to the trains to Boston and all the necessary neighborhood basics within walking distance (supermarket, pharmacy, cleaners, bakery, etc.)
