Just interested: If you could buy a house and live anywhere in Rhode Island, where would it be & why?

Probably Little Compton or Portsmouth. Little Compton I don't have to explain why to anyone who has been there. Portsmouth it still has nice scenery, access to beaches and good fishing; but also to the rest of RI and MA.

Little Compton - Far from the maddening crowd; quiet village type area, nice beaches, peaceful.

On Little Compton, enough said! If only you never had to leave.

On my first ever visit to LC, I saw a scene with cows literally grazing down to the surf! Will never forget it. A very special place.

Love Newport! Another perfect place if you never had to leave. I happen to be familiar with this terrific house. It sits behind the iron gates of the Ocean Lawn Mansion. Spectacular inside and out! If it has any drawback, it's that it has no ocean view. Get past that small matter and it's heaven.
