In fact with RI plates, I'm surprised that you weren't turned around at the town limits. Probably drove at 40 mph in the fast lane on 128 with your muffler hanging off to get there. And I KNOW that you didn't signal your lane changes. Good Lord, how do you people even exist? Next time you're in Lexington, take a look at the quality of the roads. Enjoy it while you can though, because you'll soon be back in the Pothole State. Mister, for your own good, throw away those state supplied water filters!

Ha, busted, I lived in Lexington and Belmont, the quality of the roads are far worse. They keep them that way in part to keep traffic slow. It's intentional.

If you're going to troll, at least try to know what you're talking about Mr. Keyboard Warrior.

How could you tell? If you're driving a Rhode Island car, the suspension has already collapsed on it. I grew up in Lexington and stay there every weekend. If you think the roads in RI are better, then don't bother switching water filters. It's already too late. Since you've demonstrated cursory reading skills (not bad for a Rhode Islander), take a look at my previous post citing empirical data rather than arguing the anecdotal. But if you're like every other Rhode Island zombie, you're not going to want to be confused by the facts. Rhode Island government keeps it's citizens stupid. THAT'S intentional!

I don't have time to teach an obvious troll, and I suspect you do not want to learn anything.

But I'm getting pretty sick of your crap. I'll take less than perfect roads in a city with great music and arts, and a great food scene, and cheap real estate and a walkable core over negative people anyday. Negative people suck.
Rhode Island roads which you refer to as "less than perfect" and "perfectly adequate" would elsewhere be referred to as "crumbling" and "deficient". I appreciate your blind optimism but I doubt if your car's suspension does. Let's review: worst roads in the country, #50, dead last! Despite: 8th highest tax burden, highest vehicle tax, 5th highest cost per road mile and 12th highest gas tax. Put aside your animosity and tell me how this makes sense to you.

yes, I'm a Rhode Islander. Not being defensive... just stating a fact . RI has it's issues, but it's no different than anywhere else, and I've lived in many states besides RI.

Where else can you see this?

What does that have to do with the statement I made?

Ok, fair enough. Have you ever lived in a state which confiscated more of your tax dollars while providing less in return? Honestly? Rhode Island floats at or near the bottom in every list of meaningful positive metrics. All the while sitting at or near the top in every measure of taxation. What do you get for your money? Smooth roads, sturdy bridges, outstanding schools, plentiful economic opportunity? If you can tell me that it's the same in every state, then there's not much for us to talk about.

It's a wonder that car's driver hasn't been cited for Knucklehead/Dufus of the Year -- it's against the law to plaster your plates with renewal stickers.

Born and raised in RI......left in 1985..........and yes I am guilty of at one time putting stickers all around my license plate.

Those old RI plates were ancient. That was back in the day when your first two digits were your initials if the plates were old enough.

I lived in New York, which taxed me way more. Whether or not they provided me more for my money is impossible to quantify. The roads were worse in New York, at least in the dense part I lived in. But the public transit was awesome. My disabled child gets far, far better public services in Rhode Island, so that's very significant for me. The state park system is much better in Rhode Island -- and by that I mean in comparison to downstate New York. Crime rate was very low in both places, which I suppose you could attribute at least partially to good policing.

Hey, can someone explain to me why anyone cares that people put registration stickers all over their license plates? I don't get it.
