One of my favorite things about summer in R.I. is the availability of sweet corn. I have purchased sweet corn all over the state as well as in southeastern, MA and I have to say the best I've had continues to be from Usher's farm stand which is close to where I live located on Rt. 136/Metacom Ave. in Bristol directly across the street from Super Stop & Shop. Usher's corn is the yellow and white kernel butter & sugar variety and is so tasty you honestly do not need butter or salt to enhance it's flavor. Definitely pick up a dozen if you happen to be in the area and you won't be sorry.
Now that I have shared my sweet corn secret, can someone share with me their tomatoes secret. My late Dad grew great tomatoes, and since he passed I no longer have access to these true garden gems and really do miss them.

Glad you posted. My mother used to plant beefsteaks and they were fabulous in late summer and early September. Now that's good eatin'!
Beefsteak tomatoes are wonderful especially between 2 slices of plain white bread with a slathering of mayo and a little salt and pepper.
A mater sandwich does sound really good, but it begs the question, is a slathering of mayo more than smithering of mayo? Is it more than a glob? More than a smidgen? We need to know these things.

To spread thickly or lavishly and is has to be Cane's brand.
