It’s not at all surprising that white collar enclaves have 2x the vaccination rate of poor cities or lower income rural areas. Personally, I’d love to see that broken out for all of New England.
It's a bit more surprising for RI since they spent a lot of time initially targeting towns by demographics like Central Falls and Pawtucket.
On the other hand, the stats could be broken down further to reflect age ranges. Overall population includes children who aren't getting the vax in big numbers.

Yep. I've been looking at the Massachusetts spreadsheet which has it broken out by age. The aggregate gap between blue chip suburbs and the failed cities is the expected 2x. The gaps for 75+, 65-74, and 50-64 aren't as large. Blue chip suburbs have an older population and a much lower birth rate.
Springfield vs Longmeadow
75+: 63% vs 80%
65-74: 57% vs 76%
50-64: 35% vs 50%
Total: 21% vs 42%
For working age adults, a poor city where many of the jobs are hourly and don't have sick time, a big gap isn't surprising. As a public health thing, that really should have been addressed nationally back in November when the vaccines were getting their emergency use approvals.
Vaccinations are really dropping like a cliff. https://ri-department-of-health-covi...ub.arcgis.com/
If you care about our economy/businesses AND/OR the health and lives of Rhode Islanders - get a shot! For our administration: We need incentives - employee clinics, half a day or a day off after vaccination (or perhaps a cash incentive by the employer if they choose to get it before a day off). Some places offer free food, a free beer etc. All good ideas.

FFCRA already does this. It originally covered having COVID, quarantine, or caring for someone with COVID or quarantining. As of April 1, it also covers vaccination and recovery from any side effects. I preemptively put in for a day off after the second dose and used FFCRA for the time off.

Great thanks! I never had to worry about this - so didn't check. I suppose it should be publicized better; if I didn't know, and I generally keep up on covid related news, I suspect many won't either.
Talked to a few contractors today - none of them had gotten a vaccine. All willing to wear a mask. Really appreciate they were honest. But I wish more people got out to get their shot(s).
Only between 1000-1500 new vaccinations per day. Yikes! Seems like we are stalling. Huge dropoff from last week. Why won't people just get the shot? It's so easy now. Still almost 200 positive tests a day. Come on!!

First Indian variant found in RI. We have sequenced only a bit over 2k virus sequences. I think it is very risky to consider removing the (very low cost) indoor mask mandates given how little we still know about how covid evolves. We've shown time and time again that we simply are unable to react quickly enough to react to new developments.
