Yes. But more to the point is the fact that such an accent negatively impacts the probability of a call center where it's spoken. Please feel free to dispute my opinions with those of your own.

Yes. That, coupled with the fact that Rhode Island is a relatively high wage state is the best I can come up with. You also are free to dispute my opinions on the topic with those of your own.

Depends on if the Portuguese immigration favored the Italian or Irish version of English. I personally think the FR dialect is one in its own, but definitely not Boston Irish. I have had old school non-Portuguese friends in FR who sound a bit like Mainers. No Brooklynese whatsoever.
FR is its own thing (I personally describe it as a RI accent on steroids), but it's definitely in the RI family vs. the Boston/NH/Maine family. It extends up and down 195, and some people from the Cape/Islands sort of have it as well. I know what you mean by the old Yankee accent that still has a presence in SE Mass. (but more so towns like Dighton/Rehoboth, Westport...), you can hear it in areas of RI as well.

If it matters to you, Massachusetts far exceeds Rhode Island at every level of educational attainment. And I'm personally the product of a fine Boston university. And no, I meant probability. As in likelihood. Or chances. This wasn't one of your finer posts. Off your game for sure.

And you being the product of such an institution, may certainly inspire protestations of no affinity.

And I think you mean that you have got game. Or possibly that you have game. Rather silly, isn't it? You're newer here but the implied understanding is that when communicating extemporaneously, mistakes are bound to happen. It's far more important to be able to communicate our opinions effectively. And educational attainment levels between states are fair game for comparison since you brought up the issue of literacy.
