This YouTube video came up in my feed recently about walking across the state of Rhode Island in one day using Google Maps. The video was posted by a couple into the “vanlife” lifestyle. Pretty interesting and entertaining take on what it’s like to walk across Rhode Island from the Connecticut to the Massachusetts border:

Definitely interesting. It should be noted however, that they chose to walk across some pretty dangerous areas of Providence.

By the time they arrived in Providence, it was already dark. They should have planned for an earlier start.

I feel like I'm missing something. How do we know exactly where they walked through Providence? The video showed them at Cranston Street & Garfield Ave in Cranston...and then they were at Sax's on Taunton Ave in East Providence. The video skipped over their walk through Providence.

sacreole, thank you for posting this video.

Dark is when the fun starts, but not dressed like that. Arriving around 11 is perfect. That's the time to start going out anyway. Good time to get a feel for the city. The only "danger" they faced was the traffic while wearing all black.

They said the trip took longer than anticipated, but yeah...

We don't know for sure, but they did say they were following the google walking directions. If you put in Cranston & Garfield to Sax's, that's the way it takes you (Cranston St./Superior St./Sprague St. (Long Live)/West Friendship St./Friendship St...). Again did they follow that down to the letter we do not know, but it last showed them heading straight in to the heart of the West End of which there is really no way around.

A fun idea indeed. I agree- they should have started at 5or 6 in the morning or so. Crossing through major freeway areas like 95 and 195 couldn't have been easy.
