Diossa’s Ethics Disclosure Failures Are Disturbing
Quote:
James Diossa, the affable former Mayor of Central Falls, has had trouble completing the Rhode Island Ethics Commission’s annual Financial Disclosure Statement correctly.
The failure to properly disclose interests in a medical marijuana company and to properly disclose more than two dozen trips while serving as mayor raise concerns about transparency and competency.
Diossa not only failed to disclose his interest, but his response showed his lack of understanding of the disclosure requirement and basic facts.
In a statement to GoLocal, Diossa said he did not need to disclose his interest.
The corporation was, in fact, incorporated -- see here. And moreover, the Ethics Commission’s Financial Disclosure requires that the official unveil the involved financial interest, not just if the official “acquired any power.”
The absurdity of the response demonstrates Diossa’s lack of understanding or raises questions about his truthfulness.
So if you're voting in the Democrat Primary for Treasurer, I would probably vote for Pryor in the Primary - as ormari said.
Having this guy anywhere near that office would be fiscal suicide.
You're a breath of fresh air. You're the only Rhode Island voter in this forum, other than possibly Ormari, whose criteria for gaining your vote is anything other than waving the same colored foam finger. And they rant about the death of democracy. They oughta know, they're the ones killing it.

Thanks, but let's not get carried away.
I didn't say I was voting for Pryor haha
I just urged Dems not to vote for Diossa.
With all candor, I would have to look into both Pryor as well as the Republican candidate before making a final decision.
Only because in this quirky little state, every once in a while the Democrat candidate is to the Right of the Republican one.
Although those days may be perhaps coming to an end.

Ouch! Being responsible for no less than "killing democracy" is a heavy burden. Especially, with such language coming from a "moderate". I'm sure our Rhody & Ormari appreciate your unbiased endorsement.

Since I don't even pretend to be a moderate, I'll be fine. To bad you didn't get mentioned. You could use some (any) credibility.
So I'm a RI voter now? Aren't you the one who feels the need to remind the forum that like 5 times a day, that I'm not (even though you can't seem to get my state right). And don't worry about my credibility, dude. I think you have enough of your own (or should I say "lack thereof") to be concerned with at this time.
