Two Students Struck in Pellet Gun Assault on Providence’s East Side

https://www.golocalprov.com/news/two...-providences-e

"Two Brown University students were struck by paintball pellets when a car pulled up to them and began shooting on Tuesday night. It marks the latest episode in a wave of pellet and BB gun crime in the city.

About Incident
Shortly after 11 PM on Monday night, police responded to Meeting Street on Providence’s East Side for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.
Police met with the victims — a male and a female, both Brown University students — who said they were walking at the intersection of Brook and Cushing Streets around 10:30 PM when a dark-colored sedan approached them and began firing paintball pellets in rapid succession.
The victims, who according to police were struck in their arms and shoulders and sustained minor injuries, said the vehicle then fled the scene."

Wow. Sick and sad.

I read that juveniles pulled this crap in Springfield, MA, recently, hitting several people in several separate parts of town, triggering many 911 calls. They were in fact found, at a gas station with still many unused rounds!

They haven't been caught and they had Massachusetts plates, so how did you decide they were from the inner city - and which one?

Thanks for adding in a bit of fiction to your crime reporting though. Are you sure it wasn't a homophobic attack?

Transparent bigotry doesn't bother that one. Even if he has to lie to reinforce his nasty point. And, the pretense to care about a "homophobic attack" is even less credible. If that's possible.

You are confused. They made zero mention of a license plate, only that it was a dark colored sedan (Altima? Maxima???). The suspects were likely from the nearby UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS housing projects, the source of much of the random crime targeting people on College Hill.

The attack in March was a car with a similar description bearing MA plates.

It's no secret that public housing in Providence is full of MA plated vehicles. At least two right here in this UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS street view.

That's a stretch. They probably moved from MA or those are visitors. Who the hell wants to go to MA to get a registration unless they have to? This isn't New Hampshire or Maine.

Several reasons. Both taxes and insurance are super high in Providence. Usually cheaper to register your vehicle at your cousin's address in Attleboro, Taunton or even Fall River. And lots of "long term" kind of visitors. A lot of people "living" there aren't really legit. You know, "single" guys shacking up with their baby mamas, etc. (similar to what goes on in Boston). I bet if the police sat there and ran all of the plates parked there any given night, at least half of them would not be registered at that address.
