After what seemed like a relative slow start to the summer compared to 2021 (not counting the weekend of PVDFest), things might be heating up again. Two people were stabbed last night on Alverson Ave. in the Hartford/Silver Lake area of the city, following a fight between a group of people.

Based on various factors I'm not going to get into right now, there is certainly a potential for things to explode in the coming weeks (the ingredients are all there). How that manifests, is anybody's guess.

Shortly after 1 AM Sunday morning, police responded to a 911 call on Alverson Avenue between Hartford Avenue and Plainfield Street.
According to police, they encountered a group of people fighting, including a man in possession of a knife, who was placed in a police cruiser.
Police say they then saw a vehicle then flee the scene, which officers pursued and stopped.
Upon approaching the vehicle, police said they discovered a male stab wound victim who was being driven to the hospital.
Police said they followed the vehicle to the hospital, where the victim was reportedly uncooperative.

Second Stab Would Victim Found
Officers at the scene of the 911 call said they then observed another male victim walking away from the area with apparent stab wounds.
Police said that the male victim was uncooperative and transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
At the scene, police said they recovered a blood-covered knife, as well as a live-pistol caliber round on the ground."

I understand few on this forum will care since it doesn't involve Biden or Trump, but somebody was shot last night in Providence. In the SUTTERFIELD (former Valley View) projects on the North Providence line. Man was "hanging out" when a guy came up and shot him. I know those projects had a lot of problems last summer, I guess it's still pretty active over there.

Biden yes, Trump no. There's only one man running this country today, July 15th. Or rather running it into the ground, and he ain't orange.

Perhaps, but there is a dedicated forum for this kind of discussion.

I don't understand why people are so insistent on bringing it over here, I don't know of any other state forum where this happens.

That posters find ANY topic more interesting than your RI Crime Fetish should be no surprise. Perhaps, if you found another Rhode Island based cub crime reporter? It seemed for a while you had a local candidate, but he apparently passed on the job. It's the labor market today. Nobody wants to do the dirty work.

More proof that many people in America live in worlds separated from reality. Here are some facts to totally destroy this fetishizing of crime in Providence. I think we should rename this group, Crime Kink. For folks who get off to living in a world of fictional crime.
