I plan to move back to New England (from Washington, DC) in about 5 years when I can give up the rat-race, buy an affordable free-standing house, and enjoy life.
I would love to find a house that is nestled in a natural area. Perhaps it would be called a "nature reserve" or national park - basically, an area that is better for birds and wildlife than it is for humans.
Can anyone recommend any towns/areas in Rhode Island that fill this bill (pun intended)?
oh look I found a website about charlestown and you are in luck looks like they have a new cemetery book -- Charlestown's Cemetery Book has been published and is now available! We have books at the Town Clerk's Office available for those who would like to purchase one.
The southern part of the state (Washington County) I recently saw something about being in the top 30 places to live nationally. Quiet, near the ocean- pretty low stress low key area.

Thanks in advance!
Living in Chepachet, I can recommend the NW part of the state. If you want solitude and nature turn to the Buck Hill area of Burrillville. Any part of Route 100 past Pascoag will fit your needs. West and NW of Route 102 in Glocester is a "back to nature area". Many lakes are located here with trout fishing in unstocked rivers! Both towns have large protected tracts of land owned by either the State or the towns. All sorts of wildlife. You could see a bear or even a rare (for this area)moose.
