newport, where to stay.. (place, water, boating)

I am going up to newport next weekend probably thur - sunday. i am going up with about 6 guys...........we are boating up so anything near the water and the night life would be great...any ideas would be appreciated,,,,,,,,,,also is their anything going on that weekend i heard a music festival???????? anyone know if this is true and if so what type of music............thanks for your help..........looking for atleast a 3 star place thanks again...........
