We are driving down and will visit Midlothian, but would like to see some other family/suburban areas like it. If anyone has suggestions it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Mechanicsville is a lot like Midlothian. A lot of growth there.

Mechanicsville is NOTHING like Midlothian. Mechanicsville is much more blue collar while Midlothian is more white collar.

There isn't much growth going on anywhere, but Midlothian is still growing faster. Only thing that happened this past quarter in Mechanicsville is that a Lowe's was built.

Midlothian is fine if you are going to send your children to public school. If you do not have to worry about schools or if you have plans to send them to private school, I would look at the near west end...Cary Street area.

Yeah, I'd suggest Glen Allen and Short Pump area as well. Parham Road area.

Short Pump, Glen Allen, Tuckahoe, and my favorite Westham (city feel with county schools!) Often overlooked but great… Goochland (fast growing-simi-rual5-10 min from Short Pump). Specific neighborhoods: Twin Hickory, Wyndham. Let me know if this helps!!!
