Hi,
I may be relocating to Richmond, VA and am interested in finding a ranch home in a safe area. I love the pictures of the homes in the Stratford Hills area, especially the brick and mature landscaping. Is this a safe area? What about Bon Air? Any thoughts? I need a one level or split level home and these areas seem to offer good options. If you have other areas I should look into, I'd appreciate the info, as well.

Thank you

What are your needs/if any regarding schools. One area is in the city, the other Chesterfield County - big difference if you are looking at public schools. Some of Lakeside, Ginter Park, Bellevue and other Northside neighborhoods could also fit what you are looking for - similar vibe.

Bon Air is really safe. Not sure about Stratford Hills, but I get the feeling is less so.

Thanks, everyone. I was able to visit a couple of weeks ago and really liked both areas. The schools are a good point. It seems that most of that area feeds into the Richmond City schools with a few in that James River district. I'll check out the areas you suggested, ellieb128, thanks. Are there any other neighborhoods that have that same feel/look in Glen Allen or other surrounding areas? I may have a choice of where to settle, rather than having to be on the south side of the river. Appreciate it! Great info. Love this site.
