So I'm looking at a heat zone map overlay on google maps.

It shows the area starting at I-295 @ I-95 (glen allen) and to the north as having 15-30 days a year of 86+ degrees.

Contrast that to chesterfield/chester and points south as having 60-90 days a year of 86+ degrees.

Just wondering if this map is right. It looks like it's all in the same type of climate. I don't see any major changes in elevation. Is it really that much cooler on the north side of Richmond?

I don't live in the Richmond area currently.

No, all pretty much the same - few degrees differences with city vs. country etc. I've lived in both. No huge difference.

We're all in the 60-90 days of 86 degree plus temperatures. Nobody in the Richmond area escapes the heat or humidity in the Summer.
