Hello to everyone,
I'm going to Richmond together with my two friends in January. We applied for internship program in some company and we'll stay there for a year.I found out this ZIP belongs to Chesterfield county i think Bon Amy.We are coming from Europe, from 500000 people city.On this forum i read that this county is quiete boring,is that true?Because we are 26 and still want to have a fun. How far is downtown from this county and is it possible to go out every weekend in downtown, considering distance?
Thanks in advance, every information will be precious

Downtown is 10-15 minutes away. You won't have any problem going there every weekend.

You'll have to drive back and forth to go out downtown though... and public transit/taxis aren't nearly as good in Richmond as they are in Europe.

We use James Limousine frequently to get a towncar to go to town. I think it's about $60/hr.

By the way, I think you mean Bon Air - not Bon Ami. It is close to Richmond downtown and an easy drive there. I suppose if you're used to living in Paris or Manhattan, Richmond might be "boring", but I think there is plenty to do here.

Yes,i made mistake when i said it is Bon Ami.I didn't say it is boring in Richmond i just read a lot of comments on this forum from people who said that.I've never been in America and I'm really exciting about my living there.
By the way in my opinion Richmond is more beautiful than New York according to pictures that I could see on the Internet.Nature is beautiful there and also you can see something else except concrete and high buildings.
Thanks everyone,You are really polite

It is true that there is not much to do in bon air but it is very beautiful. as everyone else said you will certainly be able to find a lot of things to do in the city, which is close by. my family has hosted Germany students for the past two years and they have really enjoyed the experiences they have had here.

I live in Bon Air and I can get to downtown Richmond in 12 minutes on average, not bad at all. Like others have said, Bon Air is a nice, quiet family place, not party central. It's good to have that environment knowing that you can be downtown in such a short time.
